what's wrong with this picture...?

.

Gee, I wonder why people don't like us?

  1. Hmmm... well I suppose that the alternative is not bringing up what we believe. And just go around and be nice to folks so that they'll never be sure what we stand for. The same folks can get their impression of religion from ABC or CNBC.

Honestly, I don't think that the American church has a clue what makes a Christian attractive.

My t-shirt says "What Wouldn't Jesus Do? and has a picture of him hang gliding.

  2. It misses the principle of the scriptures. Love for others. This picture represents agression and hatred.

  3. If the ocean and the land are all a part of the earth as a whole, and Jesus said, "The meek shall inherit the earth." This picture is in fact, "not factual."

  4. What if, instead, there was a picture of Jesus with a whip turning over tables?

  5. This thread is a perfect example of the fact that the Church doesn't really know what Love looks like. I hold onto the promise that the world will know us (believers) by our love. Does love confront deception? I hope so.

  6. Yes, I firmly believe that love confronts deception. Love by it's nature does not lie or deceive. The point is that the photograph is a clear depiction of the opposite of love.

Read the scriptures, did Jesus ever preach or spread the kingdom thru anything other than love?

  7. A couple of thoughts: believe it or not, not all believers are anti-evolutionists. Second, there is a lot we need to learn about how people hear a message. And a "Jesus-With-A-Whip" t-shirt?--kind of cool. Except Jesus' issue with the whip was religious people. Those are people like me. I suppose I'd wear it inside out.

  8. If you look at it from an evolutionary perspective, some one had to play a divine part in the evolution process on this planet that created all living things . And that would be? Naturally God.

  10. I'm a strict Creationist...God Created. Period. If it turns out he chose to do this through some sort of millions-of-years process then that's The Good Lord's Biz...My job is to love people into relationship with Jesus. It is from that center that all other things have their meaning...As far as I am concerned...But then maybe someone should make a T-shirt with a big Jesus shark chasing after my simple little self? :) As for confronting deception - Remember in Revelation Jesus compliments a church on their sharp eye for spotting deception but then calls them to the carpet for forgetting LOVE.

  11. C.S. Lewis was actually one who supported evolution.
    If Ken Ham knew...

  12. LOL! If Ken Ham knew about CS Lewis:

A - He would never speak his name again.

B - He would write a book countering Lewis's argument.

C - His face would melt off.

Any guesses? I really don't know if he doesn't know...I'm just funnin (please no one throw fossils at me!)...

  13. I think the shirt is kind of funny. It's kind of dumb and doesn't make much sense but I get the humor in it. I don't think the shirt shows a lack of love though. The Jesus fish isn't eating a person it's just snacking on a theory. Evolution is still a theory, correct?

  14. In as much as the Theory of Relativity and the Theory of Gravity are just theories.
